"Poetry by Jo Landau

They say each one who is here
Is here for a reason
So I search for mine,
Being here:
I went through since my childhood
To the present years;
Wondered whether what they said was true,
For I haven't found the reason yet
And it might be too late;
So I'll have to live my life for no reason
And pass my time season to season:
Sometimes there will be passing dreams too;
So I'm here for no reason this is all
I can do.

When night falls,
I shall gaze at the stars
Which seem so close, and yet so far.
I wish I could fly in space,
All over the place,
Andy maybe there I'll find happiness;
I'll fly North, East, South and East -
I know there I shall find rest.
I shall travel found and round
Until, at last, peace I find;
But it's gone late; I'll soon go to bed,
So, good night, stars,
See you all when night falls
And in the street there'll be parked cars;
And with you I dream some more
Of far-away skies, seas and shores
And the love I'm longing for.
